My life

I’ve been asked what I wanted for Hanukah this year. One of my relatives asked which store I wanted a gift card to, and I picked Best Buy. I’ve had it with Circuit City, due to its high prices and mediocre seletion, and CompUSA is starting to lose my patronage, for mostly the same reasons. So this year I’m going to give Best Buy a shot at my aunt’s wallet
.
On my list of wanted items:
- New In-ear headphones
- More RAM for my computer (expensive)
- A bigger SD card for my camera
- Accessory kit for my iriver u10 MP3 player (which I never really posted about over here for some reason)
Hopefully I’ll get the earphones, because right now, I have no good pair to use, and can’t really make good use of the iriver without good earphones. The accessory kit is also pretty useful, considering it has a belt clip attatched to the silicon case. Only four days left untill Hanukah, which I’ll just have to live through.

School is moving along quite slowly these days. Not a ton of new and exciting events have occured recently. I have a whole lot of homework due soon, with Hanukah vacation right around the corner (actually, we have a few shortened days, on one of which I will have a test). Only one significant (and not really so) event happened this week: I finished making my belt in leather-working club. It’s not like a belt you would buy in the mall, but it defenitely looks nice.
In computers, the teacher is just making us type up a long list of Excel glossary defenitions. It’s long, boring, and (you wouldn’t know) painful work (thanks to the stellar ergonomics in my school’s lab, which is really just a classroom where we use the laptops). I’d like to actually learn to write formulas and to use all the features of Excel, or even do real programming (not TI-83 simple stuff – I mean like Java or even VB.Net or something).
I’ve began to look into college stuff. My math teacher (who is really awesome in terms of social and academic capabilities) let me borrow a copy of US News that had rankings of the top schools. I read a bunch of things on preparing in high school, financial aid, and other subjects in that topic.
Otherwise, not much going on. Life is almost like a script. How’s that for a metaphor?

I decided I’m going to start writing blog entries regularly now. I think I have lots of computer knowledge that serves little purpose just being stuck in my head. I’ll try to write an entry daily, and share my repository with the world.

After I switched my domain a couple of days ago, things weren’t running smoothly. If you would access this site, you wouldn’t see the images or the normal layout of my blog. Fortunately, I checked back tonight, and all was working fine. See my thread on the Trap17 forum for more info on the whole ordeal (as well as a verbal warning from BuffaloHELP for venting in the Support section).

Well December 25 came – Hanukkah, Xmas, and Kwanzaa (did I spell that right?) are in session. I’m petty sure that the average teenager has received more gifts than me. I didn’t really get that many things. Well, as for the few I did, here they are:
-$45 cash
-$25 Circuit City gift card
-Smith Cariboo PMT OTG (over the glasses) goggles
-Rawik Insulated Cirque ski bibs – youth size
Plus more to come over the next weekend. Maybe I’ll buy myself a 256 MB Sandisk Cruiser Mini or Micro as a present to myself.

Okay. I can tell your the average guy off the street who went through 20 (or more) years of education (or maybe not). You probably remember high school, doing all that crazy homework and projects and saving it until the last minute. Well I probably fit in your shoes. I spend a good amount of time doing homework and projects and stuff like that, and like most teenagers I complain about it. Examples: 4 journal entries (at least a page) and a full page vocabulary essay on 10 words every week, I have to make a PowerPoint presentation based on an autobiography I wrote by the 12/22, and an ancient civilization newspaper with a full page article and ads and other stuff by the 12/15. I have lots of other work also, and almost can’t keep up with it. Now do you feel my pain?
